Notes for a care conversation

Can my insurance or health account help?

What can I ask the insurance plan?

  • Does this plan cover this specific preparation for the proposed condition?
  • Would permission be needed before a prescription or test?
  • Would the clinician, pharmacy and laboratory each be covered?
  • What would I owe if a claim were refused?

Request a written answer tied to the medicine and services being discussed. Keep it beside the care quote.

What do HSA and FSA mean here?

An HSA takes its initials from health savings account.

For an FSA, the full name is flexible spending arrangement.

These accounts hold money for eligible medical costs.

The tax rules reviewed on September 26, 2026 distinguish medical care for a diagnosed disease from spending just for general health.

That distinction does not establish that a particular sermorelin expense qualifies.

Would a clinician’s letter settle it?

The person managing your health account may ask for a clinician’s note explaining why you need the care. This is often called a letter of medical necessity (position as of September 26, 2026).

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) handles US taxes. The tax texts reviewed here do not specifically require that letter; your account may still require it.

Ask the person managing the account what proof is needed and whether a clinician’s letter would be enough.
